“Celebrating & bringing recognition to Rochester’s talent. While providing a platform to give back to our community.”

Smilez Entertainment presents Roc Awards 2017. Now in its fifth year, The Roc Awards provides Rochester an opportunity to honor its own for their continuous efforts in community service and involvement in the fields of Entertainment, Theater, Visual Arts, Fashion Design and Community Involvement. The Mission of the Roc Awards is “to celebrate and bring recognition to Rochester’s talent while providing a platform to give back to our community.”

On February 19th, 2017 against the stunning backdrop of The Kodak Center for Performing Arts (formerly the Theater on the Ridge; 200 West Ridge Rd., Rochester) award recipients nominated and voted for by the community will be presented with these coveted awards by local celebrities, public figures and dignitaries. The night will feature a live band, performances by the nominees and dynamic host, Joel James. Each year a special Humanitarian and Lifetime Achievement Award are also presented to distinguished members of the community that have made an exemplary contribution to our city.

In 2013, the first year of the Roc Awards, the ceremony drew an audience of 700. In year two, the audience grew to 1200 selling out the venue with an additional 400 people turned away at the door. Each year the show grows a bigger audience and grander production. There were over 265,000 votes counted for the event last year with over 1500 people in attendance. This is truly an event that brings the city out in droves and thousands participating in the nomination and voting process. In just five years Smilez, Ent. has branded a franchise that grows exponentially year-to-year.
